FP offers media conversion from video or film to virtually any digital format using industry leading high-performance software and hardware. FP captures video from client's master, ftp site, or server, to create digital media files. The resulting files can be distributed via ftp, external hard drive, or DVD.

The term "video capture" is sometimes used interchangeably with "video encoding". Analog video is digitally encoded during capture. "Encoding" is usually used to describe analog to digital conversion, and "transcoding" is usually used to describe digital to digital conversion

Use of the industry-leading video encoding and transcoding tools enable users to efficiently re-purpose video content for Web, Mobile, CD, and DVD applications resulting in Hollywood-quality digital masters. Using the best video capture devices and SDI video connections for capturing digital content, FP ensures the sharpest video quality in the industry.

Original video sources: D-beta, Betacam SP, 1 inch, VHS, DVD, DVC Pro, S-VHS, and 3/4" tape are converted into various digital video formats. FP sets video files to fit DVD, Streaming Video, or Digital non-streaming video specifications.

System resources enable you to place a watermark logo, or text over an existing video; a common security measure or brand identifier.

When multiple digital video formats are needed FP creates a high-quality digital video file that can then be stored and used for future digital variations.

DVDs may be authored, designed, and created with special features that consumers have come to expect over the years like Commentary, Deleted Scenes, Interactive DVD-Rom Content, and Trailers, etc. Custom static and motion menus are also available on DVD projects.

Encoding options include for AVC/H.264, Flash, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, QuickTime, RealMedia, and Windows Media*. Advantages of H.264 include: advanced compression that results in a significant data rate savings; a network abstraction layer designed for efficient transmission of data; and presets for a wide variety of applications ranging from video telephony to high-end broadcasting. H.264 supports IPod, ITunes, cell phones, and hand-held MPEG video player formats.

As we make the transition from Analog video to Digital video the need for Closed Captions on digital video for the Hearing Impaired has increased. FP captures the existing line 21 closed caption data from a master and converts it to be used in various digital formats such as: Video for Flash, Windows Media Video, QuickTime, MPEG-4, Real Video, and others. FP can take a Descriptive Voice track from a master and encode the video with the Descriptive Voice Audio.
